WWII is one ugly mark on history, but some of the items from that era have undeniably made its mark on design. Classic aesthetics are popular among collectors and consumers, which is why vintage looks sell. Tim Galyean applies the same concept to create the Zero Tolerance 0223. This folding knife flaunts a retro appearance that manages to stand out with style.
To be specific, this EDC folder bears a resemblance to the iconic fighting knife from Ka-Bar that the U.S. Marine Corps was using at the time. The clip point blade is fashioned from CPM 20CV knife steel. This type of metal boasts superior corrosion-resistance thanks to the high chromium and vanadium content. Moreover, the bead-blasted DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating adds an attractive matte finish. Likewise, you’ll notice that the blade features a cutout for weight reduction and additional jimping on the spine.
Meanwhile, the lightweight titanium handles also sport a layer of DLC to match its blade. What holds the blade in place is a steel lock bar insert. Next, we have a KVT ball-bearing system alongside an ergonomic flipper to make opening the knife buttery smooth. The Zero Tolerance 0223 is equipped with Earth Brown G10 scales that wrap around the handle and contours along with its shape.
