We had a first look at their awesome prototype last year, and now Shanghai Customs’ retro Honda eCub2 scooter is finally ready for production. Powered by a 1000W electric motor coupled to a removable Panasonic lithium-ion battery pack, this emission-free ride has a 40 km range at an average speed of 45 km/h.
Based on the iconic Honda Super Cub chassis, the bike has the same stamped steel construction of the original. It also features a new aluminum swingarm that allows the for the electric motor to fit in the rear hub, adjustable shocks for a comfy ride, a retro LED headlight, and LED taillight, while all electrics are tucked away inside the frame for a clean look.
Starting this April, you’ll be able to order an eCUB 2 or the conversion kit (available soon after) if you wish to turn your old petrol-powered Cub into an all-electric bad boy.
