With the Converse brand being rejuvenated by its acquisition by Nike, more specialty and limited editions of their shoes have been hitting the market and with more frequency. A refreshing design has been put forth with the Converse Chuck Taylor II Engineered Mesh ($120).
The silhouette is that of a classic high top but with uppers comprised of a Nike exclusive woven mesh fabric. Add lush leather and Lunarlon sock liners into this already foot loving fabric and wear some Nirvana on your feet. The durable vulcanized rubber outsoles give sure traction whatever terrain you cross, while tongue gussets prevent slippage for added comfort.
Utilizing a somewhat military theme, the Chuck Taylor II’s come in Desert Sand and Army Olive with a “C75” camo pattern. Incidentally, Converse also uses this very technical material to create matching MA-1 bomber jackets. Looks like technical is a trend now, does that mean it’s less cool?
