Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken the time to check out some of the latest armored vehicles available. The list includes SUVs and trucks with modifications to protect the driver and passengers from threats. You’ve probably noticed that most of these heavy-duty transports are designed around automobiles that already have the muscle to move the added weight. Well, except maybe for select limousines that have upgraded engines. So here’s what we would like to point out as a game changer—the bullet-proof Armormax 2018 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
First of all, power won’t be a problem since this mean machine is already a beast with pure American muscle under its hood. The 6.4-liter V8 engine within its reinforced frame produces around 714 horsepower. This seems to be enough to keep the sedan mobile.
The company claims that its protection system is robust enough to withstand grenade blasts. Its cabin is protected by opaque armor (bullet-resistant fiberglass panels) and ballistic glass. It even includes gas masks that should prove useful in situations wherein chemical attacks are a threat.
Armormax even takes it to another level by installing electrified door handles and a tack dispenser to shred the tires of pursuing vehicles. Meanwhile, the 2018 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is immune from the previous hazard through a set of run-flat tires. Lastly, we found the matte black finish on the armored sedan seductively menacing.
