Taiwanese design firm “Ystudio” believes in looking to the past for inspiration to make fine artifacts for the future. Their elegant Ystudio Fountain Pen ($150) is clear example of that philosophy.
Available in four metallic versions, including two copper and two brass models, the refillable pens come in either portable or desktop models. The two “Brassing” versions have been given a black coating so that as the pens are used, they slowly develop a unique wear pattern along the shaft. The desktop models come with a conical desk stand, while the portable ones have forsworn the old-fashioned pocket clips in favor of a cord and pass-through slit so they can be attached to your gear bag. All designs feature high-end Schmidt nibs for steady, smooth writing, and arrive with a white maple (black) protective case.
