The design team from 3andwich Design/He Wei Studio were honored to have the chance to demonstrate how even a utilitarian civic building can be transformed into an interactive extension of the dynamic vistas the Tourist Center of Anlong Limestone Resort has to offer. Built on the highest point of the small hill laying at the bottom of a karst canyon in Guizhou Province, China, the tourist center overlooks the 700-acre resort surrounding it.
Safely above the level of the annual flood-plain, the group of buildings directs clients to such extreme sports experiences as rock climbing, paragliding, ballooning, as well as water and off-road sports. Each section of the center offers huge glazed framing to the scenic areas around. The wide-open decks and large eave-covered areas provide a touch of nature throughout the otherwise mostly wooden structure built into the surrounding rocks.Learn more From gooood
