The North Face gives its classic 1996 Nuptse Jacket a modern silhouette with the new Pertex Reversible Nuptse. This layer combines reliable cold-weather performance and fashion-forward design for maximum versatility.
It’s essentially two jackets in a single puffed layer. It offers two distinct looks, as its name entails. One side features a minimalist, sleek, modern silhouette ideal for casual urban walks in chilly conditions. Meanwhile, the other side screams alpine adventures and an homage to the original Nuptse look with its retro color blocking and oversized baffles. This side also features the brand’s embroidered logo on the left chest and the back-right shoulder.
The Pertex Reversible Nuptse is not just for looking classy or edgy, though. It offers reliable performance in extreme temperatures thanks to enhanced insulation. It features Pertex Quantum, a light, soft, downproof fabric that improves thermal performance by enhancing wind and water resistance, while preventing down leaks.
Speaking of down, this jacket retains the OG Nuptse’s iconic 700-fill recycled waterfowl down for its main insulation. It is ultra-warm and windproof yet extremely compressible. Meanwhile, its overlay insulation comprises 80% recycled polyester and 20% stretch synthetic insulation.
This modernized version of a The North Face classic outdoor gear uses a sustainable outer and reverse body fabric made from recycled nylon in a fluorine-free DWR finish for added water repellency.
The Pertex Reversible Nuptse Jacket rounds out the design with a reversible VISLON central front zip and rounded-corner hand pockets with reverse-coil VISLON zippers. It also has elasticated fold-over cuffs and no-shoulder seams for added comfort and reduced bulk when worn with a backpack. It’s available in four colorways: burgundy, dark chestnut, lead, and The North Face’s iconic Blue hue.
