It’s available in two blade options: Japanese VG10 & Sandvik 14C28N. The former offers good corrosion resistance, edge retention, and well-balanced overall performance, and the latter boasts excellent toughness and corrosion resistance and is easy to sharpen. The three-inch blade deploys quickly and smoothly with one hand via a thumb or front flipper on ceramic ball bearings.
The dual-opening method caters to different users’ preferred grip and comfort and adapts to the task at hand. The thumb-opening mechanism features a dual-sided blade design, making it convenient for ambidextrous use. The SFX MK II Chroma pocket knife also features a frame lock that secures the blade during and after use to prevent slippage and accidental deployment.
Moreover, a lockbar insert enhances locking stability by reinforcing the contact between the lockbar and blade tang. It slides into place when the blade is fully deployed, providing a satisfyingly crisp locking sound. It also reduces wear from long-term friction. Complementing the robust blade is the handle, precision-machined from Grade 5 titanium for lightweight strength.
The handle’s exterior design draws inspiration from the smooth, flowing lines of a silver fox’s body. It features a natural, sinuous curve from front to rear, allowing the handle to conform to the palm’s natural shape for an ergonomic grip. Jimping on the thumb pressure also adds grip support, while a meticulous anodizing process gives the handle a rich, vibrant color.
