With its angular shapes and deep red color of the weatheing steel walls, the ‘Rose House‘ lends a sense of monolithic beauty that blends in perfectly with the wild surrounding terrain.
Perched atop the picturesque Carpathian mountains of Ukraine, the construction remained minimalistic – it is primarily a blend of concrete, glass, steel, and water pools to form this unilinear mountain castle. The house focuses attention on nature, featuring large floor-to-ceiling windows that illuminate the open-layout interior.
The pool with its statue of a human welcoming the rain defines the space and holds the key to realizing it is 3-D artistry. Inside its anchor-solid walls that will change patinas over the years, the relaxing simplicity of the Rose House’s design soothes on many levels.
