We all know that food scraps left in the bin for too long can get really messy. We’re talking about the gunk and the funky smell they leave behind. If you plan to turn them into compost, then the Palm Bin is your composting partner. It keeps them smelling and looking “fresh,” so to speak.

It’s a “cooling food waste bin that makes composting odorless and effortless.” At its core is a revolutionary cooling technology that keeps the flies at bay and prevents any leaky residue or funky smell from the compost collection while preserving the moisture and microbes needed in composting. The cooling thermoelectric conductors quickly get to work at the moment you drop those carrot or banana peels, effectively cooling food waste to stop the growth of odor-causing bacteria.

The Palm Bin features sensors that track the amount of food waste collected. The sensors also provide real-time data on carbon impact and the amount of methane reduced via a companion app. The bin comes in three parts: the caddy, the bin, and the no-spill ring. The bin offers 7 liters of capacity (good for a week’s worth of waste), and the ring secures the trash liner around the bin. Meanwhile, the caddy offers grab-and-go portability when it’s time to dispose of the collected compost.

Moreover, you don’t have to remove the liner from the bin yourself. Pressing the button in the middle of the caddy automatically detaches the liner for hands-free disposal straight into the trash bin. The Palm Bin is modular, making it easily repairable, and it’s also recyclable. It’s made from plant-based biopolymer, with its recycled cellulose insulation sourced from 90% recycled post-consumer fibers.
