Coming this spring to quality liquor retailers is an extra special limited edition Old Rip Van Winkle 25 Year Old Bourbon ($1,800), the oldest whiskey the company has ever released.

Using their world-famous wheated bourbon recipe, this whiskey was distilled in 1989 and laid down in the lower level of a metal-clad warehouse. Moved in 2002 to the Buffalo Trace Distillery’s lower floors of their brick warehouse, it continued to rest for twelve more years. Transferred into stainless steel tanks in 2014, the whiskey has now ripened and is ready to be enjoyed.

With only 710 bottles of this spectacular bourbon in existence, the packaging was made to celebrate the event. Each hand-made glass decanter from Glencarin Crystal Studio is numbered and comes with a silver stopper and top. The lids of the presentation boxes were hand-crafted by by James Broyhill II of Heritage Handcrafted from the staves of the eleven barrels this fine whiskey were matured in. For the bourbon connoisseur, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience Old Rip Van Winkle at its finest. [via]
