Playing to the growing popularity of the military boot look, Nike has just brought out a new boot/sneaker that combines practicality with that style. Building on the classic look of their iconic Air Force 1 sneakers, the new Special Field Air Force 1 ($185) is ready for winter weather.

The SF AF-1 high top is made with quality full-grain leather coupled with ripstop ballistic nylon over a thick gum sole. The military styling is emphasized by the adjustable ankle strap and the removable braided paracord that doubles as a handle for the accompanying tote bag. The tongue holds an “Espionage Pocket” for safely tucking away small important things like I.D., credit card, or cash.

Nike is reinforcing gender stereotyping with two male color schemes of drab olive and black with the female shoes in off-white and beige but somewhat redeem themselves with a unisex white on white to be released at exclusive venues. They still managed to include the trademark Swoosh on the side so you will always know they are Nikes. Available starting November 5.
