While most of the world gears up for Halloween, other countries celebrate a different kind of holiday to honor their dearly departed. If you’ve seen animated feature films such as The Book of Life and Coco, the prevailing motif is usually festive. As a tribute to Día de Muertos, Nike unveils the Air Jordan 1 Low OG We Are Stories.
From what we could gather, this classy pair of sneakers might be a Mexico-only exclusive. Expect limited-edition variants of these iconic sneakers to fly off the shelves as soon as they’re available. According to the website, only 5,036 pairs of this special footwear are due to drop on October 14, 2026.
While it’s possible that a few will make it stateside, collectors can try their luck with reputable resellers. However, the elaborate design of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG We Are Stories is sure to bump up its value at auction. Unlike last year’s Air Jordan 4 Retro SE Somnos Eternos lighter colorway, this fresh commemorative silhouette opts for a darker hue.
SKU: IZ4686-216 touts an upper in varying shades of brown. Specifically, Nike lists these as velvet brown and light chocolate. Elsewhere, the toebox is rendered in black, while the varying decorative accessents are embossed across varying sections of the sneakers. Its construction is mostly leather with long-pile suede visibly on the eyestays and heels.
Hints of teal adorn the Swoosh emblem at the lateral side of the mudguards, Nike Air branding on the tongue tag, and the outline of its embroidered Swoosh logos. The midsole also flaunts a gradient effect as it fades from brown into the translucent teal of the outsole. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG We Are Stories includes an extra pair of laces in teal.
