Manhausen Island Seacabins 18

If you’re into outdoor pursuits like hiking, fishing, skiing or kayaking, the Arctic Circle region would be at the top of the list for places you need to visit. And while there, you might want to check-in at one of the Manhausen Island Seacabins ($186/night), for a total experience of the outside elements.

Built of glass and timber, the holiday cabins overhang the coastline of Norway’s Manshausen Island, providing spectacular views of the Steigen archipelago. Each lodge can accommodate 2-5 people, and include two double bedrooms, a vestibule, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining area, plus a space to relax and enjoy unobstructed sights of the sea and island, with total privacy. The cladding is made of two layers of wood (the exterior will turn silvery-grey over time), while a layer of glued glazing creates a smooth facade designed to withstand the region’s severe conditions.

Without skimping on comfort, these shelters are perfect for connecting with the nature, and maybe catch a glimpse of the fascinating Northern Lights.
