The Doodler is Knafs’ first inline flipper and its first knife with a nail pick, designed to liven up days in the office. It’s more than a utility tool, but also a fidget-friendly addition to your work desk.
It opens bills and envelopes, and keeps you entertained as you wait out your remaining hours in the office or sit through boring meetings. The flipper tab on the back and the jimped front flipper offer instant, fidget-friendly blade deployment, while keeping the knife’s slim profile. For a slow and steady blade deployment, the nail nick also works. The 2.9-inch-long (72-mm) S35VN steel blade stays firmly in place via an integrated liner lock.
The Doodler folds down to just 10.2cm long (about 4″) and is only 11 mm (0.4 in) thick. It’s lightweight at 2.4 oz (67 g), making it ideal for carrying around in the pocket of your jeans or even in shirt pockets, as it’s barely noticeable.
Knafs founder Ben Petersen designed this flipper knife after the extreme boredom he experienced during the remote working days of the COVID-19 lockdown. He survived hours of Zoom calls by fidgeting with pocket knives and doodling pictures.
Hence, he combined these two utility tools into a sleek package. Apart from the blade, this folder also cleverly hides a slimmer ballpoint pen cartridge near the rounded top of the handle. The pen features a colored tail and an edged pull for easy access when used as a standalone writing instrument.
The Doodler is available in three different G10 scale colors and in five different inlay options. Two tiny screws that hold the inlays in place also enable easy swaps. Knafs made the inlays open source, allowing users to design and 3D print their own styles.
