Craft beer brewers have been known to try some crazy flavor combinations in the quest for the next taste sensation but until now they have never tried to ferment anything from the animal kingdom! Virginia’s Veil Brewing Company has teamed up with New York’s Evil Twin founder Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø to break the species barrier and produce an 8% ABV Double IPA that has had Chick-fil-A chicken tenders ground into the mash used to make the beer.

Yes, they put fried chicken into the mash. Was it an ingenious idea for a unique flavor combination or did someone get careless with lunch? We may never know but for the record there is only 0.4% chicken in the beer. The very hoppy nature of the IPA means the Citra, Simcoe, and Enigma hops also worked into the mash allowing the Fried Fried Chicken Chicken Beer to be quite full of classic citrus and pine notes with no feathers to make you sneeze. It was only a small-batch run of 16 oz. cans and at the moment can only be found in Richmond, Virginia.
