With a nod to Prohibition-era airplanes and wood boats from the 1920s, Minneapolis-based entrepreneur Kevin Fitzke individually hand-crafts a beautiful stand-up paddle board watercraft he has named “The Bootlegger.”

The Fitzke Bootlegger Paddleboard ($TBA) is formed of marine-grade mahogany plywood that has been resin-impregnated and given a three-stage buffing process to produce a museum-quality shine. It has hand-painted graphics that allow each Bootlegger to express an individual look. The outer shell is also coated with a fiberglass layer to resist scratches or dents. The Bootlegger also sports aluminum bumper trim along the sides and 5mm thick SeaDek foam pads for your feet’s comfort and security. A special feature is the water-resistant storage compartment under the front of the board for hiding away your important stuff!

At just 12′ 6″ long, this 28.5″ wide hand-made watercraft has an average weight of between 36 and 39 lbs. and is easy to navigate in and out of those tricky little places you may need to go.
