The three Frenchmen who run Ortolani Customs love a challenge to their talents and one was given when a customer brought them a Ducati 1199 S and a concept drawing from Holographic Hammer. Seeking to make the reality as close to the design as possible, they used traditional metalworking techniques to form the bodywork of aluminum and make each panel self-supporting.

The large looking tank helps cover the Ducati airbox and the electronic fuel injection unit. This huge piece up front is balanced against the wasp-like rear section that houses the tail light behind a custom leather saddle crafted by NMB Designs.

The body of what was to become the “Polished Panigale” was only the beginning. By enlarging the pistons of the 4 valve 90° L-Twin engine and adding a titanium Akrapovic racing exhaust system, Ortolani Customs pushed the Ducati from 195 horsepower up to 210. Adding some of Ortolani’s world-famous painting to countless hours of metal polishing provided a very liquid-like finish to this ultra-sleek custom racer.
