California-based Alta Motors continues to make waves in the electric motorcycle sector. The same guys who introduced the streamlined Redshift Street Tracker a year ago, have just unveiled another emission-free, technologically-advanced ride.

Made to compete with modern 350s dirt bikes, the Redshift MXR has 50-hp and 147 lb-ft of torque, which is more than its predecessors had to offer. These numbers are possible thanks to an all-new, super-dense R5.8 battery pack that recharges in just 1.5 hours (compared to the Street Tracker’s 6-hour charge time, this is a huge improvement).

Complete with top-of-the-line parts such as the plastic bodywork from Acerbis, WP AER suspension, Brembo brakes, and Warp 9 Racing wheels wrapped in Dunlop performance off-road tires, the Redshift MXR is just as capable as a novice trail/woods bike as it is a professional-class motocrosser. We’d be psyched to take it for a spin in the city, too.
