Russel’s Reserve is now ready to promote a new expression ahead of the holidays. Are you and other drinkers craving an excellent Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey to sip at the end of the day? If so, the Single Rickhouse series is about to drop one. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to grab a bottle of Camp Nelson D.

Sometimes, there is a substantial demand for an upcoming release. Hence, distilleries with only a few batches often rely on games of chance. It’s technically not gambling since there are no bets involved, but everything is left to Lady Luck instead. Hence, interested buyers should sign up now for the lottery and hope they win.

“The 2026 Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse from Camp Nelson D is a rare bourbon, bottled from a small batch of barrels selected from the 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 floors of the Rickhouse. Bottled at a barrel proof of 120.8, and non-chill filtered, it is meant to be sipped and savored,” as the marketing page reads.

Tasting notes dictate prominent aromas of vanilla, baking spices, baked fruits, and apple. Take a sip to experience notes of rye bread, stone fruit, cinnamon, and cloves. Ultimately, the label points out “a medium-length finish with unique notes of rye spice, pepper, cinnamon and a spicy oak profile.”

Camp Nelson D is a follow-up to last year’s Camp Nelson E, which remains the highest proof dram to date at 128 proof. The arrival of the latest Russel’s Reserve Single Rickhouse means a complete collection involves five bottles. The first-ever made its debut in 2022 — the Camp Nelson C.
