This bad boy is billed as “The most over-engineered precision locking tweezers on the planet.”

So far, you can take their word for it, because there’s hardly any commercially available product that does the same thing. A few might come close, but will lack the distinct functionality promised by the company. We can safely say the Precision Grip is ideal for hobbyists, engineers, and everyone else who is into crafting highly detailed items. Do you also have an obsession with tools? Well, a lot of guys do! Everything starts small and eventually balloons into a collection that can easily rival the hardware aisle of popular retailers. Amusingly enough, MetMo co-founder James Withfield shares the same sentiment. He goes on to point out that “if you’ve ever spent more time looking for a tiny part than working on it, you’ll understand why we made the Precision Grip.” As you can see, nobody is spared from the issue in question here.

What Can It Do?

Murphy’s Law dictates “everything that can go wrong will go wrong.” However, we should be able to drastically lower the likelihood thanks to the Precision Grip. The design and manufacturing behind each unit ensure a firm hold that users can manipulate as needed. Furthermore, the tool also accounts for most types of gripping surfaces.

Technically, you’re getting three-in-one adaptability for varying shapes and material properties. The pointy nibs feature a textured surface slightly akin to that on a gecko’s feet. It’s just rough enough to prevent unwanted slippage yet gentle enough to minimize superficial damage.

As we make our way to the opposite end, three V-grooves are located behind the hinge. These are perfect for pinching or shaping wires. Lastly, the flat tips have replaceable silicone inserts to securely hold objects in place without damage. Leave it to MetMo to come up with another unique contraption.

The Precision Grip lives up to the name courtesy of its robust foundation. To avoid misalignment, the barrel hinge system guarantees zero horizontal aberrations. Meanwhile, the ambidextrous form factor enhances the ergonomics. A spring mechanism provides a familiar tweezer feel, while the knurled adjustment knob is easy to twist with your thumb and fingers.

With proper care and maintenance, this is a tool that will last a lifetime. Nevertheless, it’s fully user-serviceable, which is a terrific bonus for those of us who love to tinker around with our everyday carry. There are three versions to pick from: aerospace-grade aluminum, surgical stainless steel, and grade 5 titanium.

Living up to MetMo’s usual antics, tweaking its capabilities is entirely up to you. Of course, there are plenty of optional add-ons to suit each scenario. As of this writing, we have six jaw types: Standard, Fine Point, Reverse Grip, Angle Reverse Grip, Needle Nose, and Round Base. You just need a screwdriver to switch them around.

If you want to get the most out of your new toy, additional accessories are the way to go. All are sold separately, but it’s justifiable nonetheless given it significantly upgrades your workflow.
