Bestech Knives’ DUCI pocket knife blends custom knife maker Ostap Hel’s signature modern geometry with practical innovation. It’s a refined, compact EDC knife that blends the fidget-friendly functionality of a Karambit. While it doesn’t share the true Karambit form, the added finger ring on the butt gives it a Karambit-like spin.
The finger ring on Karambits ensures a secure grip and allows the user to change grips quickly. It serves the same purpose for this knife, allowing more room for grip and control given its size. The knife measures just 6.38″ with the ring included. It’s a compact folder, with a blade that also clocks in at just 1.97″ long.
The ring also keeps the fingers away from the blade. What sets this design apart from detachable Karambit rings on the market is its tool-free removal. It connects to the knife’s titanium handle via a button lock, which, when pressed, releases the ring. It goes back just as easily, too. This practicality ensures the DUCI stays compact, lightweight, and easy to carry. It weighs only 54g and measures 4.41″ long when folded with the ring.
This pocket knife may be small. But it boasts a sharp, powerful blade crafted from premium CPM-20CV steel, which offers performance similar to Böher M390. It offers excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance, keeping the blade sharp without frequent sharpening. The blade features a modified profile between drop point and spear point and deploys via an integrated flipper opener through ceramic ball bearings. The handle, ring, and frame lock are made from titanium, with the handle available in different finishes.
