8BitDo is banking on the ongoing market demand for retro-style gaming hardware and accessories. This time, it’s launching the N64 30th Collection-Clear Blue. A quick check reveals two products designed as tributes to another timeless Nintendo platform. These are exclusive colorways for the Ultimate 2 Wireless and Retro 87.

From what we found out, the gamepad is already available to purchase. If you own any of the other variants, don’t expect anything groundbreaking from this iteration. Despite a cosmetic tweak, what matters is the top-notch quality and performance. No need to worry about annoying stick drift, as every unit uses market-leading TMR analog sticks.

Depending on the game, owners can toggle a switch to set the linear Hall-effect triggers to non-linear mode. For additional gameplay flexibility, the top is equipped with an extra set of bumpers (R4 and L4). According to 8BitDo, the D-Pad and shoulder bumpers should feel more tactile and clicky, yet smooth. A matching charging dock ships alongside the SKU.

Next in the N64 30th Collection-Clear Blue is a keyboard that also arrives in a distinct transparent two-tone color scheme. Similar to the rest of the Retro 87 lineup, it includes a detachable and programmable two-button accessory. For additional convenience, the layout features a dedicated Game Bar button and volume dial knob.

Both items in this series are just as versatile when it comes to connectivity. For the most responsive experience, you can’t go wrong with wired. Meanwhile, 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth are always on standby for a cord-free setup. Each device in the N64 30th Collection-Clear Blue collection requires separate USB-A wireless adapters.
