The Silverado pickup is Chevrolet’s pride and joy when it comes to reliability and performance. A few months ago, industry insiders heard reports of the automaker establishing a partnership with Carhartt. Hints of a collaboration in the works were fueling speculation as to what it can be. Now, we can confirm that it is the 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition and boy does it absolutely rock.
Both brands are known for the quality and durability of their products. Therefore, this vehicle is a tribute to what each company does best. For those who can recall, this is not the duo’s first team-up. At the 2016 SEMA expo, the fruits of their labour gave us the 2017 Silverado 2500HD Carhartt, which was a jaw-dropping concept.
Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from consumers since then, Chevrolet is finally releasing a production version. This is one of the rare examples wherein market demand pushes a carmaker to give what the people want.
Starting with a Silverado 2500 LTZ crew cab, this special edition truck is flaunting a Z71 Off-Road Package. This upgrade includes new skid plates, custom twin-tube Rancho shocks, and a Hill Descent Control system. Overall, the Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition is ready for overlanding.
It flaunts an exclusive colourway called Mosaic Black Metallic with Carhartt gold pinstripe embellishments. The Carhartt logo is likewise available on the tailgate and the doors. We love how the design is mostly in dark shade with the golden accents adding contrast. While the exterior clearly shows Chevrolet’s touch, the interior is another thing entirely. With lavish two-tone leather upholstery and detailing, the 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition is a sight to behold.
