We know that nothing can replace the actual reading experience offered by a real book. Nothing replaces the actual feeling of flipping the pages as you move from one chapter to another. Furthermore, we know that some of you are also guilty of indulging in the smell of a brand new tome. However, as technology moves forward, we see everything gradually become paperless. Meanwhile, when it comes to e-readers, Amazon is the undisputed market leader with its Kindle platform. However, it should not rest easy on its laurels as the Kobo Forma plans to take a bite out of its share.
The Toronto-based company is ready to take on the retail giant with its latest device. It features an 8-inch HD Mobius Carta E Ink screen that can reportedly withstand abuse. It’s apparently ready to take on a full backpack that’s loaded with stuff that can damage a regular e-reader easily. Moreover, the device is IPX8-rated that can be submerged in up to 2 meters of water for 60 mins—this makes reading outdoors practically hassle-free. The built-in ComfortLight PRO backlight lets you read even in the dark.
It sports an ergonomic grip with navigation buttons for longer comfortable reading. The Kobo Forma’s 1200mAh battery promises weeks of usage on a single charge. With 8GB of built-in storage, you can stuff a boatload of e-books to take with you on a long trip or probably just a weekend of rest, relaxation, and some great reading.
