Just as the smartphone industry started to turn dual-camera modules into a standard configuration for mid-range to flagship models, Huawei broke the mold and threw in a third sensor for the P20 Pro. Moreover, experts found that the additional component was more than just a gimmick. It actually improved the imaging performance of the unit. This is most likely why The South Korean brand took the hint and packed three lenses into the 2018 Samsung Galaxy A7.
For those who are not aware that this is actually a mid-range handset. Yet, you can easily mistake it for the rumored successor of the S9. However, it does showcase some decent specs that border close to the top-shelf category. The device exudes a premium vibe with its metal frame and unique camera setup.
You get a 6-inch 2220 x 1080-resolution Super AMOLED Infinity display that thankfully does not feature that annoying cutout above. Instead, you get thicker bezels on the forehead and chin. Moving on the shooters, the combo includes a 24-megapixel main sensor with a 5-megapixel unit for depth and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
Samsung has yet to reveal the chipset used by the 2018 Galaxy A7. However, we do know that it will run Android 8.0 Oreo by default. You might think that it houses an under-display fingerprint reader, but it’s actually on the side. It relies on a 3,300mAh battery and comes in 64GB and 128GB variations.
