Running your eyes over the Toyota GR HV Sports Concept, one can see the evolution of the sports automobile of the future in this hybrid fusion. Displayed at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, it is a hint of what is to come in the GR performance line. The engine sends its power to the rear wheels while the mid-mounted battery balances and stabilizes the chassis. The engine has been imbued with the Toyota Hybrid System-Racing engine inspired by the Gazoo Racing TS050 Hybrid racing car.
Although this concept has such features as LED head lights and a rear diffuser, the real star is the transmission. While its normal cruising mode is in automatic, with the flip of a switch in the gearshift knob, the transmission converts to an ‘H’ pattern manual shifter for added driving enjoyment.
