As the second largest sportswear maker in the world, Adidas AG teams up with many designers to provide the widest possible variations in shoe styles. For 2017 they have teamed up with Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, and business entrepreneur Pharrell Williams to design an all-new tennis shoe under the auspices of Williams’ creative collective ‘i am OTHER’.
The Adidas x Pharrell Williams Tennis Hu ($130), named from the first syllable in ‘human,’ is Williams’ first signature shoe design. The shoe has a flexible white Primeknit upper matched to a lightweight EVA midsole with a waffle design. The lacing system had been built into the body like a running shoe and it has a suede tongue tab sporting the Adidas Originals insignia.
The Tennis Hu comes in two colorways; one with the white upper over a yellow midsole and the other with the white over green as a tribute to World Champion tennis player Stan Smith. [via]
