Designed around the fundamentals of military survival training, Gerber’s StrongArm Knife ($48) is the perfect companion to keep close by in all types of situations, whether you’re going croc hunting or driving to the office.
The fixed, full tang blade is made of 420 HC Stainless Steel (an easy to sharpen material, with a long-lasting cutting edge), coated in black ceramic for a low visual profile, as well as preventing corrosion. Boasting a modular sheath system, the knife can be mounted in different ways, including vertically on MOLLE, horizontally on a standard 1.75″ tactical belt, or in a traditional drop-leg belt mount fashion. A diamond-texture rubberized handle provides a solid grip, while the base-positioned striking pommel is great for breaking through hard surfaces in rescue operations. Made by the survival gear experts at Gerber in Portland, Oregon (see their Downrage Tomahawk), the StrongArm has an overall length of 9.8” (24.8 cm) and weighs in at just 7.2 oz (204 g).
