We’d be hard pressed to find a more idyllic location than the one Fallsview Residence is found in. Placed on the Bruce Trail in Ontario, Canada, the house is the perfect place to relax in after hiking along the many streams and rivers (flowing over the Niagara Escarpment) of the area.
The main public spaces in the house open to the front, taking advantage of impressive views, but the rear of the 1,390 sq ft (129 sqm) building is a true “landscape unto itself,” where a concealed natural space can be admired from the large windows of the bedrooms and patios. In the summer, shade is provided by the tall, slender, Carolinian Forest, while high R-value glass allows for the daylight to flood in, when the leaves fall as the season gets colder.
