Allowing for a profound immersion into the outdoors, the Blue Lake Retreat in Marble Falls, Texas, looks like the perfect weekend retreat. Or a permanent getaway from the hectic city life.
Raised on three levels, the industrial-looking building features a large, asymmetric timber roof, and a frame structure consisting of punctured corrugated metal sheets and wood paneling. The lower two floors hold 4 separate bedrooms with balconies on each side, ones facing the rugged hillside, and others, the lake. At the top floor, where the living spaces are found, guests can enjoy nearly 180 degree views of the tree tops & lake beyond, through large windows or from a cantilevered deck. Also on the third level, there’s a bridge that anchors into the hillside, while an open stairwell provides access to the rooms, further accentuating the connection with the unspoiled nature.
