The latest motorcycle to catch our attention is different from most iron-clad monsters you can find today on (and off) the custom scene. As it can be appreciated, the Yamaha XS 650 ($NA) featured here is a classy & minimalist build with a cool old school vibe. You gotta admit, it’s hard not to fall in love with this one-of-a-kind green beauty.
Created by Bill Becker, a Philadelphia-based retired architect with a gift for restoring motorcycles, the bike was commissioned by a client who wanted a vintage-looking street tracker, and Bill over-delivered. The only pieces that were kept from the original XS are the fuel tank and engine, the rest of the bike’s been reworked with a bunch of desirable upgrades, including a Trackmaster custom-made frame & swingarm, Yamaha R6 forks, Öhlins shocks, Excel rims wearing modern Avon Distanzia tires, and bespoke brakes from Sweeden’s ISR.
The bike’s engine has also been overhauled with high-performing bits (carbs, exhaust, mufflers), and the electrical upgraded with modern LEDs, plus a new speedo & tachometer combo. Tastefully finished in a superb vintage green with matching leather seat. via
