We admit that we have never seen anything like this before! The Nemen L.E.D. Jacket($3.000) is a unique new garment that incorporates optical fibers within the fabric, spreading light produced by a system of 12 integrated LEDs powered by 2 rechargeable lithium batteries (8 hours durability).
This jacket is an experimental project developed by Nemen (a technical outerwear brand from Italy) that shows the brand’s passion for research in textiles development and functionality in sportswear garments. The L.E.D.’s outer fabric is a combination of nylon and steel filaments, protected by a polyurethane transparent film which accentuates the depth effect created by light passing through. The interior features an insulating inner membrane and a special aluminum coating that reflects body heat, ensuring maximum protection even in extreme weather conditions. This garment endured a meticulous ergonomic study, to ensure the resulting jacket is extremely comfortable. Due to the complexity of the fabric and the long hours needed to be assembled, the Nemen L.E.D. jacket is manufactured only at the specific request of the customer. via
