We do not usually associate Mexico with making amazing supercars. There is a first time for everything though and the Vuhl 05 puts Mexico on the automobile map.
The Vuhl 05 has been built as a track day car, think along the lines of the KTM X-Bow and the Ariel Atom. Where it differs is that we think this is a good looking car in its own right, a sort of homage to open racers of the 1950s and 1960s. Sporting two seats, the Vuhl 05 ($100,000) is built on a monocoque chassis and like most modern sports cars is lightweight thanks to its carbon fiber body.
Weighing just 1,532 pounds and boasting a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder EcoBoost engine from Ford, the Vuhl 05 is capable of 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 152mph. As a track car, the weight and power of the Vuhl 05 make it a real corner hugger and we are sure it will be loads of fun when it arrives in 2014. Via
