As you know, here at MensGear we like to keep you up to speed with all the latest in watch technology and recently we have brought you some simple elegant timepieces and revolutionary examples. However, the HYT H2 Hydro Mechanical Watch may well be the best yet thanks to its appealing looks, innovative approach, and interesting features.
The new HYT H2 Hydro Mechanical Watch ($TBA) is perhaps the ultimate geek watch and looks like something out of science fiction, and with that in mind, prepare to be hit by some jargon! The watch is powered partly by fluid dynamics and comes with a capillary that encircles the face and tells you the time in conjunction with the hour hand. There is a fluorescent fluid around the outer ring that works with another fluid to move around the center as time passes. If you do not understand, then in truth we are not sure we do either, so perhaps it is best for the guys at HYT to explain.
“At 6 o’clock, the two bellows, made from an incredibly strong and supple electro-deposited alloy, are moved by a piston. When the first is compressed, the other is extended, and vice versa, driving the movement of the fluids in the capillary. The meniscus, which marks the separation between the fluids in the tube, displays the time. When it reaches 6 pm, the fluorescent liquid returns to the original position using a retrograde movement.”
If you are still confused we are told out of the box all becomes obvious and that this is actually really simple to use. And you know what, even if it wasn’t, just look at this thing, it is bloody awesome!
