At the Geneva Motor Show last week, BMW showcased its brand new 3 Series Gran Turismo, a new version of its all-conquering 3 Series models. Any new BMWs piques our attention so we were delighted to catch a glimpse of the new model and, as you would expect from the German marquee, it is a special car.
The 3.0 liter inline 6 cylinder engine pushes out 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, which is amazing for a mid-range family car that can be an elegant space for the wife and kids, but also a nippy road warrior when you feel like letting go a little. That engine and the 8-speed gear box will see you hit 60mph in 5.7 seconds while the top speed has been limited to 155mph.
If you are familiar with the current 3 Series range from BMW you may be able to see something different with the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo ($TBA). The car is 7.9-inches longer than the standard car and 3.2-inches higher, and while that may seem small, we can definitely see the differences in the images.
