There is a surprising amount of science behind the creation of a new soccer shoe and it is far more complex than just putting some studs on a sole. The Nike Football Vapor Laser Talon ($TBA) is probably the most scientific soccer shoe of all time, amazingly it has been modelled with a 3D printer. The bottom plate has been chiselled with SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) technology, and if that means nothing at all to you then perhaps it is better to say that it gives better control from a drive stance because it digs into the turf more. Also, they look pretty darn cool too, so we are happy either way.
