Luftgekuhlt passionately turn air-cooled Porsche cars into beautiful collectible pieces, and this 1985 Porsche Carrera is an example of their wonderful work. The brand loves to work with likeminded people on their bold and creative projects, and this one too is the beautiful result of a good collaboration with other auto enthusiasts.
The modified rally-style 911 Carrera is quirky and undeniably interesting, being both a cool off-road vehicle and a great everyday car. Inspired by California’s racing history, specifically desert races, the tuners have equipped the Porsche with off-road lights, skid plates, lifted suspensions and a vintage-hipster-style roof rack with a spare tire secured on with leather straps.
The car was built to be sold for charity. Luftgekuhlt designed to raise money for the Autumn Leaves Project (supporting pancreatic cancer research), and they enlisted the help of RM Sotheby’s for that. Experts estimate the modified Porsche to sell for $100,000 to $150,000.
