Inarguably one of the greatest automotive designs of all times, the Jaguar E-Type was introduced in 1961 and it combined beauty, high performance and competitive price. It was the most groundbreaking car of its era, capable of running faster than any road-going Ferrari.
The 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 ($Auction) featured here has had its every nut and bolt restored to the original condition. It features new floors and sills, a rebuilt 265 hp DOHC inline six-cylinder engine coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission, independent front/rear suspensions with transverse wishbones, torsion bars, telescopic shocks, anti-roll bar, Dunlop twin-circuit hydraulic disc brakes, and new 6″ wide wheels wearing Michelin tires. The car is finished in stylish Opalescent Silver Grey, with a Connolly-type leather interior, and comes with a matching removable tin top, as well as its correct tool kit and original chassis plate.
This stunner – praised as “The most beautiful car ever made”, by the great Enzo Ferrari – is set to go for auction on December 10, and it can be yours if you have a large pile of cash available.
