The Glenlivet distillery of Ballindalloch in Moray, Scotland continues to demonstrate to the world that the Scots have made a work of art out of whiskey. Newly released is the second edition of The Winchester Collection: Vintage 1966 ($25K) and is made of Glenlivet’s signature fifty year old single malt whiskey.

The Vintage 1966 was lovingly laid down by former Master Distiller Robert Arthur in an ex-sherry cask to give it the taste of fruit and treacle with a dark coloration. After careful monitoring over a half a century(!), Master Distiller Alan Winchester has poured off a special limited 100 bottles of this rare single malt whiskey for the discriminating connoisseur.

This precious liquid is housed in hand-blown decanters with stopper and contained in handmade wooden boxes appropriate to such a Glenlivet original. Expected to run at $25.000 per bottle, this is the perfect toast for a special occasion.
