A well-known passage says, “Ask, and you shall receive.” It could be why whiskey enthusiasts are expecting more outstanding releases this year. If your collection of unique spirits still has space for more, we have another two to fill it out. The duo comprises Tonewood: The Collective and Tonewood: Vol. 1, both of which are part of the Whiskey JYPSI x Gibson series.

As most of you can guess, what we have here are limited edition expressions. No need to wait long, because these bad boys are now available to purchase. Those with an intimate understanding of what gives whiskey a distinct character know that the type of wood used matters. The same goes for the musical motif embodied within each bottle.

Let’s begin with Tonewood: The Collective — a combination of 36% 14-year-old bourbon whiskey and 64% 8-year-old straight bourbon. It’s the entry-level option in the Whiskey JYPSI x Gibson series, shipping in a decorative tube container inspired by the luthier’s Hummingbird guitar. The label shows 51.5% ABV (103 proof).

Its tasting notes include toasted grain, vanilla, and a “medium finish with long and clean, fading to gentle sweetness and light smoke.” Next is the Tonewood: Vol.1 — a blend of 20-year-old and 14-year-old bourbon whiskeys, which is then finished with toasted Gibson maple cutoffs. Whiskey JYPSI is bottling this one at 54.5% ABV (109 proof).

Meanwhile, a sip reveals honey, polished hardwood, roasted nuts, mature oak, vanilla, caramelized sugar, seasoned oak, toasted grain, and warm baking spice. For presentation, it ships with custom hardshell guitar case packaging, two JYPSI whiskey glasses, and a co-branded Gibson strap. Don’t miss out on the Whiskey JYPSI x Gibson series.
