Originally produced in U.K., under the name of Archipods, these eco-friendly pods are now also available in the U.S. and Canada. The small but versatile structures can be used as office spaces, playhouses, workshops, meditation rooms, or be lifted up to become tree houses. Built in Maine from locally-sourced wood and sustainable materials, the dwellings feature cedar shingles, insulated floor&walls, a gull-winged door, a 3′-4′ diameter hinged window roof, and a double glazed stainless steel porthole window.
The pods can be plugged into a power source – just like a camper – and their electrics include dimmable lights, three outlets and a data port. They can also be equipped with heating and air conditioning. As for sizes, the Podzook Pods are available in 9’6″ (internal diameter at widest point) by 8’3″ tall, with larger “fat pods” to be offered soon. Details in the video
