YETI brings back minimalist “Olive” across its product line, including the Tundra hard cooler. The reissue of the tactical army green hue comes after the brand discontinued its “Venom” green collection. The color serves as a replacement and a much-coveted one at that.
Early fans of the outdoor gear brand may find the color familiar. After all, it was one of the inaugural colors in YETI’s old catalogs, along with White, Tan, and Navy Blue. It looks like it’s here to stay too, not just a seasonal release, as evidenced by an important detail on the product brief.
“Olive” is listed as “Core Color,” which hints that it’s for the long haul, at least for the Tundra and the insulated Daytrip line. The color treatment also applies to the Loadout GoBox 1, YETI’s five-gallon bucket, and Rambler jugs. Albeit it’s a limited-edition “Seasonal Color.”
As for the Tundra hard cooler, it boasts a virtually indestructible rotomolded construction. T-Rex Lid latches made from heavy-duty rubber complement the adventure-ready shell. It also has an interlocking two-pin design to ensure the hinge never breaks. YETI says this cooler is bearproof when used with extra-long shank Master Lock Padlocks. It is approved by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) to keep contents safe from these foraging beasts.
In terms of insulation, this outdoor cooler’s proprietary FatWall design holds up to three inches of PermaFrost insulation. It has pressure-injected commercial-grade polyurethane foam on the walls and lid for unmatched ice retention. It is compatible with dry ice too and keeps hot items hot for hours. Moreover, the Tundra has a ColdLock gasket that blocks heat but locks in the cold, enhancing its cooling power.
