With the ongoing conflict in the Middle East pushing pump prices up, the demand for fossil fuel alternatives is also on the rise. All mobility platforms with internal combustion engines are affected by this. The cost grows as we scale up, which is why VisionF Yachts introduces the 65 Hybrid. Here’s what clients can expect from this vessel.
The latest addition to the roster is a multi-hull model spanning 62 feet from tip to tail. We believe the Turkish shipyard recognizes the advantages a catamaran offers over the usual monohull blueprint. The 65 Hybrid may not appear as sleek, but it more than makes up for it with spacious decks and outstanding stability even in rough water conditions.
Reports tell us this fresh face in the lesiure watercraft category is an entry-level option. Nevertheless, only a certain demographic of people can consider it as such. Although fuel expenses are hardly an issue for the well-heeled among us, environmental impact still matters. To minimize carbon footprint, photovoltaic technology comes into play.
Images of the 65 Hybrid reveal large swaths of solar panels mounted on top of the flybridge roof and the lower section in front of it. VisionF notes there are 42 in total. On a sunny day, these harvest clean energy and store it within two battery systems. One boasts a capacity of 101 kWh, while the other is rated at 23 kWh.
This allows the catamran to run its hotel load, as well as other electronics, as greenly as possible. However, given the size of the 65 Hybrid, its propulsion system still relies on two 450-horsepower Volvo Penta engines. As with the rest of the fleet, buyers are free to fully personalize the exterior and interior areas.
