While were still fawning over Lotus’ electric hyperbeast Evija, it launched its 2020 Evora GT, lighter and faster for the modern generation. This new 911 arrives as the fastest and most powerful street-legal car from the automaker to ever hit U.S. gravel.
The ride comes with a retuned version of the all-too-familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine, sourced from a Toyota, no doubt. The powertrain maxes out to 416 ponies, and with it 317 pound-feet of torque. You get a six-speed manual as standard, plus an automatic with a paddle shifter with as many speeds. The latter is optional, if you’ve got $2,700 to burn.
The torque here won’t impress anyone, certainly not the specs-meticulous riders. Still, the Lotus 2020 Evora GT, manual model, remains slightly quicker. It boasts an estimated zero to 60 acceleration time of just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 188mph. That’s nothing to sneeze at, mind you.
Starting at a hefty $96,950, this model will replace the Evora 400 and Evora 410. It features revised aerodynamics for improved downforce, in addition to special lightweight components. The Lotus 2020 Evora GT also has a new rear diffuser that complements the front end’s spooky splitter.
Like many past Evora models, you can get this GT in two-seat and two plus two configurations. Bear in mind the latter doesn’t really add much beyond padded storage. Lotus is now accepting orders for this ride. Make sure to hit the link below to learn more.
