It’s time to dry your tears over the discontinued Gallardo Spyder, because Lamborghini is here with a brand new open-air supercar, the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder. The gorgeous convertible can go roofless at speeds of up to 31 mph, and it takes only 17 seconds to complete the transformation. The rear glass is also mobile, which is a very nice touch.
Powering the luxury car is the same 5.2-liter V10 with 602 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. The power reaches all four wheels after receiving permission from a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. As far as performance goes, the Huracán Spyder does not disappoint: it needs only 3.4 seconds to go from 0 to 62 mph, and it has an adrenalin-pumping top speed of 201 mph.
Turing a hardtop into a convertible requires special attention to the way the car’s architecture interacts with the wind. In order to improve aerodynamics and also protect passengers from the wind, the roofline has been heavily modified behind the seats. New rear nacelles and ducts help lower turbulence and enhance stability, so that the drive can remain smooth and perfectly enjoyable even with the roof down.
