When you want audio equipment that immediately stands out from other leading brands, Teenage Engineering has it. The Swedish firm has captivated tech-savvy consumers with its signature cosmetic style. Take a look at the EP-35 — a recent addition to the catalog — with its blend of modern minimalist design and a hint of retro for good measure.

If it’s not obvious enough from first glance, this is a multi-input speaker/amp. Fostering creativity among its users, the manufacturer is shipping this bad boy with built-in effects. Pair it with your favorite instrument and let inspiration take over. There’s also a collection of optional accessories to expand its functionality.

The EP-35 evokes a brutalist vibe courtesy of its bold monolithic profile. Teenage Engineering wants us to have complete control over the settings. Hence, instead of capacitive touch interfaces, there are push buttons, dials, and knobs. These are mounted at the top as well as behind the storage compartment cover.

It measures 229 mm x 269 mm x 176 mm (W x H x D) and weighs 7.05 lbs. Within a plastic housing sits a four-inch woofer and a one-inch tweeter. Elsewhere, ports include a 3.5 mm stereo line input, a 3.5 stereo line output, a 6.5 mm mono guitar input, an XLR microphone input, an EP-Plug, and USB-C.

Wireless stereo connectivity with another EP-35 speaker is supported via Bluetooth 5.3 with Auracast. To designate which unit functions as the right or left speaker, just tilt it to the respective side. Finally, a 20.1 Wh lithium-ion battery lasts up to 12 hours as long as the audio playback volume stays at level 5.
