The motor yachting scene is more thrilling these days. Many shipyards are now developing and integrating green tech on board their vessels. Sanlorenzo Yachts showcases the SP110 – this is the first model under its brand-new open series. The philosophy behind its stylish hull design is fuel efficiency with a combination of sustainable systems for some of its functions.

Sanlorenzo describes it as a “Smart Performance” superyacht. The SP110 measures 108 feet long with a 27-foot beam. The layout shows a short flybridge with sun pads. Moreover, it does not extend the full length of the superstructure to make way for the solar panels that line the roof.

The clean energy it harvests is apparently enough to run the hotel load of the ship. Next, we have the main deck plan which shows more sun pads for the forward section. Meanwhile, the enclosed volumes hold a living room, a dining table with eight seats, the galley, a day head, and the cockpit to the front.

As for the lower deck, there’s another full-beam living room with generous seating arrangements available. Step out into the aft area to enjoy al-fresco dining and drinking. The stern beach club of the SP110 features a motorized under-floor garage that can accommodate a tender. It can also deploy a swim platform.

Sanlorenzo says the SP110 can accommodate up to eight guests and a crew of five. Its lower deck houses the owner’s cabin, two VIP cabins, a guest cabin, the captain’s cabin and double crew cabins. Finally, three MAN V12 engines generate up to 2,000 horsepower for the water jet propulsion system and can hit a maximum cruising speed of 40 knots.
