Porche’s fleet of vehicles is not exactly pegged as rugged platforms for outdoor escapades. Sure, the 911, Panamera, and Taycan can provide exhilarating motoring experiences, but these lack some of the off-road capabilities available on the Macan and Cayenne. Still, as long as the trail is not that extremely rough, you can camp out in style with the new Tequipment roof tent.

If you’ve been dreaming of an adventure aboard your favorite Porsche, the upcoming add-on will provide the accommodations. This roof tent packs everything in an aerodynamic hardcase storage. The press release confirms it is compatible with “the roof transport systems of the 9111, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan.”

The compact physical footprint only takes up 57.48” x 55.12” x 13” when not in use. Keep in mind it requires you to keep driving speeds below 80 mph for safety reasons. When fully deployed, the Tequipment roof tent measures 101.58” x 101.18” x 46.46” and can comfortably accommodate up to two people.

Porsche says we can mount it on vehicles with or without roof rails with a maximum load capacity of 419 lbs. and 309 lbs., respectively. Once you reach the ideal spot for a campsite, the Tequipment roof tent’s floor size can expand to roughly 83 inches x 51.2 inches. It touts breathable cotton blend walls and a high-density polyfoam mattress.

Insulating quilted linings keep the interior temperatures cozy in hot or cold weather. Water-resistant surfaces keep moisture out even in heavy showers. A telescopic ladder makes it easy to reach the Porsche Tequipment roof tent. Clients can have it in black/light gray or Black/dark gray. Orders will ship out in November 2022.
