When it comes to luxury cars, a limited edition model often arrives with unique features that set it apart from the base variant. So it’s an odd surprise when Lexus revealed that the 2018 LC500 will get a special version that is draped in a “Naples Yellow” coat. To match the exterior shade, its interior leather components will also sport yellow stitching.

We honestly expected to discover more about the nuances that would justify its label as an exclusive option. Yet, other than the new colorway, everything about it just borrows the configurations from a few of its available trims. It’s not necessarily a bad thing because you can take comfort in the fact that it will undeniably meet your expectations. After all, Lexus is brand known for luxury, comfort, innovative tech, design, safety, and performance.

Looking at the specifics, this yellow-clad touring coupe will be pushing out 471 horsepower, taking it from 0-60 mph within 4.4 seconds. Additionally, its 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine is mated to a 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. Upgrades such as a carbon fiber roof, a limited-slip differential, 21-inch wheels, and rear-wheel steering are apparently included as well.

Lexus has yet to announce if the limited edition “Naples Yellow” LC500 will ever make it Stateside. For now, it’s currently slated to launch only in the United Kingdom until further notice.
